Now that I express it, it feels kind of obvious; anything with a small enough subculture will start speaking English for it. specifically I’ve really stopped watching german minecraft videos, and am only in English-Speaking Discord servers, and maybe this is only so non-obvious to .e because Germany is relatively big. I’ve heard smaller countries don’t even have literally every TV programme dubbed in the local language.
I’m Dutch and fortunately they don’t dub TV programs here. Although they started doing that with some kids shows since few years which is IMO a terrible decision.
Personally I hate it when content is non-English even though it’s not my first language. I’d rather be able to follow without subtitles and Dutch content is very cringeworthy, so bad.
