Just saw a ranking of the Top 15 fast food burgers, and McDonalds was dead last, something I’ve been saying my entire life. #1 was Shake Shack, but that’s not right. The best fast food burgers are Culvers, which wasn’t on the list at all.
Huh, BK is considered the worst of the worst in my city. Wendy’s just above it. Five Guys and Freddy’s are both pretty good but I am not sure they’re national
I see Freddies now and then, but I’ve never tried it. I got to try In & Out a while back, and it was great, but Culvers was still better. I still wish our state had In & Out, but I doubt it will ever happen.
Everything they have is best in class - their fish sandwich is incredible, McDonalds should be ashamed. Their chicken is as good as any, and better than most. They even have an excellent Pot Roast Sandwich.
And their prices are really reasonable, too. They could easily justify what Five Guys charges, but they don’t, so the place is ALWAYS jumping.
Every shake shack I’ve tries is like the saltiest burgers, they are not good. Also for a place called shake shack you’d think they’d have awesome shakes, they are meh, tiny and expensive.
Five Guys is hit or miss but sometimes they hit so fucking hard, idk how they do it different but at least it doesn’t taste like salt.
I think Five Guys burgers are better than most, but not great. OTOH, they have the best fries in the business. Sometimes I’ll order a large batch of fries, and reheat them in the air fryer. The way they load you up, I can usually get 3 or 4 servings out of it.
And Five Guys prices are immoral. The last time I got a double bacon cheeseburger, small fries and a drink, and it was $25! That was the end for me.
And I’ve never been impressed by Shake Shake. They seem to be comparable to Burger Fi, which I never see mentioned anywhere. Good, but not great, and definitely not worth the super premium price.

Controversial opinion, but its actually burger king now.
I used to be die hard wendys/culvers, but culvers is too greasy and Wendy’s has fallen off HARD to my dead-last.
A&W (specifically the Canadian franchise) is pretty good too
Organic coffee, actual eggs. It was the only faarfood place where the food tasted like real food

This is a very recent (last month or so) change. Their fries and chicken nuggets are waayyyyy better than they used to be
Might have to give that a go for lunch today

Fast fresh Freddie’s is basically a culvers clone.

McDonald’s stopped being food like 20 years ago, it’s just calories you can sell without direct legal liabilities
