Slightly off topic, but I wonder how big a difference it’d make if Vegas didn’t exist. I hear how people should stop eating beef so much, but then you look at how much Vegas goes through, or any other big city with excessive consumption.

Probably a lot. I’d be willing to bet vegas has the most

      • private flights
      • beef consumption
      • air conditioning
      • non-renewable water consumption

Per capita then any other major city in the US. Dubai probably has it beat globally though.

You’d probably be better to look at per capita consumption. I’d imagine that vegas is probably lower than areas where alternative meats and vegan options are lower. Education and availability of other options are the only way to drop it down. Heart disease being on the top 10 in the US just shows how red meat is too high in our diets.

DeDuCE model’s two-step land-balance approach, we use two agricultural statistics. Here, Flagland use and Flagproduction represent the quality of land-use and commodity production data, respectively. It is important to note that the IBGE dataset for Brazil does not provide flags for commodity production (Flagproduction). Thus, we assign a value of 1, reflecting the official figure flag as IBGE directly reports the data.

this sounds like some sloppy research
