    Wow, glad we got that cleared up in 2026.

    The “everything causes autism” groupthink really downplays and distracts from the long-standing but poorly-communicated fact that circumcision offers no health benefit that regular bathing won’t cure.

      I’m confused… How does regular bathing reduce the spread of HIV and other STIs? How does it remove phimosis?

      I’m definitely not saying that the procedure is the right thing to do for infants, but factually there absolutely are medical uses and upsides for some people.

          Oh definitely! Except condoms are not really readily available in a lot of places (for example, parts of Africa) which is where it happens frequently and is a permanent boost. A 30% reduction in transmission is significant.

          You don’t have to like it, but I’m factually correct and the science backs me up. See Wikipedia for a primer.

              That study is from 2022. Some of the ones linked on Wikipedia are the same age, very slightly older, or even newer. These aren’t studies from the '70s using outdated methodologies or something. It doesn’t nullify the science. They’re both seemingly saying somewhat opposite things but that doesn’t mean that one is outwardly completely wrong, it means at best the science is still out and at worst it depends on specifics of the situation.

              And yeah, it would be great if they would provide full health care for everyone, but for people in war torn parts of Africa it’s not really an option because the governments aren’t stable or don’t care. I also wish proper contraception was available everywhere for free, but it isn’t. And even if it were, you can’t tell me that you believe that every person would use it 100% of the time.

              So again, every time I see this it’s simply people who don’t like circumcision getting mad that there may, in fact, be a functional use for it somewhere and it’s not just people trying to get their kids dick to look like their dick. That’s such a weird and disturbing dodge.

      Its crazy to me that the ONLY serious reason anyone gives for why they get babies circumcised is

      “I don’t wanna tell my child how to clean their penis”

      What a fucking shame. The child rearing fans really wanna make a whole child and then pay a doctor to mutilate them instead of acknowledge they have genitals!

        I’d assume it’s more like they don’t want to have to explain to their kid why their penis doesn’t look at all like Daddy’s. Not that it’s a much better reason, though. Curious how many non-circumcised fathers opt for their kids to be circumcised.

          Or they will say “women prefer it” or something insane.

          And that’s assuming they don’t cite religion which is crazy in the US because Christianity does not in any way require it at its core.

              That’s insane fiction lmao where did you hear this? Jews have always been a minority so the idea that they’re making all the rules is out to lunch haha.

              Jews circumsize as an homage to a story in the Bible. It’s supposed to represent a covenant with God.

              Judaism doesn’t view other religions as inferior or wrong. Just different. This is actually a neo-nazi trope used by the American KKK and other ideologically tangential groups to get more people to be sus about Jews.

              The reason North Americans largely circumsize (or used to ) is due to evangelical control and fear of masturbation. It was believed that removing foreskin would limit masturbation (it doesn’t). Go look into Kellog and circumcision.

              You’re conflating Israel’s war crimes with Judaism and spouting Nazi-ajacent rhetoric whether your aware of it or not.
