@glyph@mastodon.social: okay I have successfully avoided responding to any of these directly but after having seen like the TENTH post today saying something like “we don’t need to convince you to like AI, the revolution is coming whether you like it or not” I just have to reply, generally, to this whole sentiment: OKAY THEN. IF WE ARE GETTING LEFT BEHIND THEN LEAVE US BEHIND, ALREADY
Not saying it’s good. But it does appear necessary. This is what people mean by learn to use AI or be left behind. No one is saying you should like it, or that it’s good for society (it’s not), but it is the current state of the world. You can stomp your feet and throw a temper tantrum, or you can try to ride the wave of shit.
No shit-surfing for me. I think I’ll just continue fueling the ai backlash that’s happening across the country. Turns out some cities can actually halt datacenter construction and that’s kind of a bigger priority for me than job switching at the moment
