Why did I start reading this to the tune of SpongeBob Squarepants and why did it kinda work?

I agree except on housing. That I will place the blame squarely on NIMBYs. Corpos only account for like 9% of housing/rental stock. A majority are mom and pop landowners with 1 or 2 properties in their portfolio. These homeowners lobby against development to protect property values.

While building more is obviously necessary, there’s still more than enough houses in the US to house all the homeless, but it’s less profitable, and in a profit driven system this is just the cost of doing business. Like, sure, people normally want to live in more urban places, but I don’t think many would want to stay homeless if offered an empty house elsewhere. Building more under neoliberal capitalism won’t do anything to fix homelessness, unfortunately.

Well the billionaires own the media. Left wing media won’t even let their journalists be activists because this would “conflict with objectivity.” Meanwhile, right-wing media just parrot narratives (favorable to privatization / big business) and call every sensible progressive policy “woke”.

    edit: Liberal media.

Liberal doesn’t mean left wing, it means pro-capitalist, anti-communist. The US tolerates no public leftist presence.

Legitimately know a person who told me all problems in the world and the reason my life isn’t better is because the poor ruin everything and steal your stuff. Hard to find a way to even talk after that stupidity slap.

Not surprisingly they are addicted to fb, x, and YouTube manosphere channels. Imagine if we had no internet, we’d have a lot less of these folks.

In Germany Social Media is used as one of the best ways to propagandise many youths towards conservative / officially known as right wing parties. I knew way to many people who said so much sht just because they found another nonsensical post on (e. g.) tiktok. It just pains me to believe how many young adults, that can vote, were fed full since childhood with this kind of bull. And never forget middle aged men that either went to war or only training and based their hopes on this kinda sht. They never fail to disappoint.

Um, aktuly, the Billionaires are all Chinese and Muslim Terrorist. And they are the ones coming over the border, via Trende De Agua, with the help of AOC and Hillary Killington, who both got rich smuggling children for Jeffery Epstein. So we have to fight back by passing out AR-15s to the beautiful Christian patroits along the Texas-Mexico border and telling them to fire when you see the whites of their eyes, just like the Founding Fathers told us to.

Because, under Real Capitalism, none of this would be happening. The problem is all the Socialist Fake Capitalism that’s been imposed on us by the College Marxists and the Woke Cathedral of Hollywood Sickos. We need a New American Revolution to wash away the wicked. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown.

Also, I should note, I’m typing this from a McMansion in the Texas hill country while sitting on a cool $50M in SpaceX IPOs. So when we say “Things are bad right now” what I hear is “My neighbors are unseasonably tan and I’m not allowed to sexually assault the house workers with impunity” not “I’m suffering even a modicum of physical discomfort or personal danger.”

Not just Americans. Right wing all around the world is doing the same thing. Even here in Portugal, same rhetoric from Chega.

I have a friend here in the Netherlands who blames leftist policies on all problems here, in spite of us having right-wing governments for 20+ years. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

we in Italy have people (and right wing politicians) constantly saying that all the problems are caused by the left in 20 years of govern but in the last 30 years, most of the time it was right wing parties in power or if we had ““left”” wing parties they were in coalition with right wing ones so you couldn’t even call it a left government

And we should also talk how we barelly have a left because it’s mostly center left and center
