Costco Canada employee here. Yeah there is a lot of corporate bullshit, but also a lot of good. I help send out pallets of stuff to local food banks and animal shelters every day. I have the mid level benefits that give me 80 percent of all my healthcare expenditures. All of them.
In two weeks I will top out on the pay scale at $34.40/hr. I started with Costco in 2022, and I’m just a returns clerk in the back, not a manager or supervisor.
In Canada it feels like a, “the enemy of my enemy” situation. Yes they’re a massive US company, but our own grocery oligopoly doesn’t feel great to support either. Shopping local is the best option, but cost can often be a problem.
They are in Canada too, and yeah they are the best US store chain by far. Still don’t buy from them tho
