In Dutch we call the mayor a burgermeester, which can be literally translated into burger master.
There were couple of … um, puppet animators back in the 1970’s who did a bunch of holiday specials, Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass. The villain in one of their specials is named Burgermeister Meisterburger.

Literal translation would be: ‘citizen master’ as ‘een burger’ is a citizen. Sorry to spoil the fun.
