Forgot that was another example. Good eye.
I bet tribbles would be delicious with sweet and sour sauce.
Just fry them with the hair on so it acts as crispy breading. And now I’ve made myself nauseous.
No way, that’s the original dialogue?!
Should I not have abandoned TOS for the extreme sexism in the pilot and 1st ep? No. It must be the children who are wrong.
(Honestly tho, I don’t think I could sit through it if it keeps going like this)
The first frame and Spock saying “Fascinating” are direct dialogue, the rest being my flair.
While not the strongest episode, it’s considered a classic.
The show has progressive notions for its time, but doesn’t hold up to today’s standards.
Even to this day, Star Trek has problems sexualizing everyone. Still, the characters and the issues they tackle are top notch.
Not for a lack of trying
When in doubt, blame Berman. After that, Kurtzman. Successor to ill conceived notions TBD.
There are some great episodes. My personal favourites:
- “Balance Of Terror” (Season 1, Episode 15)
- “The Doomsday Machine” (Season 2, Episode 6)
- “Arena” (Season 1, Episode 18)
- “The Squire Of Gothos” (Season 1, Episode 17)
- “The City On The Edge Of Forever” (Season 1, Episode 29)

Solid set. I’d also include “The Empath” s3e12 and “The Cloud Minders” s3e21, if only for the pro union (Sean Aloysius O’Brien) angle.
