this is why Tor’s Cabinet of Curiosities is great, it starts with “what happened to that one obscure british children’s TV character?” and at some point you’re suddenly listening to the story of how the show’s creator won the lottery and founded the world’s best orphanage which is also a pizzeria.
Ah ok. I can’t say I see that much (or ever, more accurately) but I think my algorithm knows I’m not at all interested in that kind of thing 😅 maybe I’m lucky
Yeah, thankfully whenever I saw a thumbnail of some idiot doing YouTuber face, I always just assumed that it would be “phone Shrek at 3am” type nonsense. Those thumbnails are something that could only attract people who have already been indoctrinated into brain rot because to me, they’re probably the reason I won’t ever watch your video.
My YouTube feed is basically just music at this point.
Youtube is plenty shitty and getting worse, but at least it’s still fairly easy to curate your feed.
To be precise, the joke is that doesn’t matter the topic I am watching, somehow YT algorithm lords will show dramaslop just slightly related to the toppic I’m interested

valid. Yeah people do be loving some dramaslop so it does show a lot of it to people. which incentivizes more to be made.
I turned off all algorithm functions for a couple years and don’t really feel like I’ve missed much.
