Earlier on reddit I ran across a bunch of people insisting this is a terrible policy and I’m just feeling really grateful that they’re not my only option anymore
People complain about Lemmy lacking niche communities but then you visit Reddit and there’s six subreddits about underage anime girl armpits with 10,000 subscribers and every comment is like “great armpits” and “my waifu”
This headline has a real “…due to The Incident™, of course” vibe to it, and I both do and don’t want to know what The Incident™ was.
How many mangaka support that Kenshin creator after they found CP on him. He literally had so much they thought he produced it.
And his coworkers/former coworkers are like “Ah yeah everybody makes mistakes”
I’m so glad the newer generation of anime are turning their back on perv shit. There will still be the occasional anime where the “10yo girl is a 1000 yo dragon so it’s totally okay” BS. But a lot of modern more popular anime is toning that shit down.
And a part of it makes me believe because the other countries are doing anime (Korea/China) and gaining more international recognition.
