Streamers are best friends with AAA devs. Streamers encourage this crap and play innocent/hostile when called out for it. Gamers are willing participants because they’ll give them views on YT or bits on Twitch as a reward for supporting the very industry both parties bitch about.

Gaming is just more spread out than ever before.
In my last job at one point we had a team where everyone played games and most of us had barely even heard of the games anyone else played.
One plays fighting games, another plays the latest AAA games, I largely play small indie games.
