I understand the feeling, but it really does feel different this time. There’s a groundswell for the first time in my life of a real democratic socialist movement, or even just social democracy. Also as the authoritarian regime pushes more and more, there will be more and more stochastic “terrorist” attacks, like assassinations and what not. It’s not going to be some major revolution, because at least America isn’t even close to that yet, but the limited “force” will get the ruling elite to start thinking about how large the actual opposition is.
…then they’ll crack down even harder of course. Maybe that will cause even harder push back, but I’m not sure at this point.
