I misread the thumbnail and thought that was Fred Armisen.

Which makes me wonder if humans have a normative look about them on the show; if actors with exaggerated features get shunted into alien roles to make the most of what they have and also not to confuse the audience (“is he supposed to be human or do those ears indicate an alien species and a low budget?”) Who is the freakiest looking human actor in Star Trek?

Who is the freakiest looking human actor in Star Trek?

Meaning that the character is a human? Or are you asking which actors are freaky looking?

Because Doug Jones is often typecast as aliens and whatnot due to his slender frame.

Yeah, actor playing a human character.

Doug Jones is like Gary Oldman, a guy you’ve seen a million times without noticing it was the same person but once you recognize him, you see him everywhere. Gary Oldman has just his acting to hide himself, Doug Jones is freakishly recognizable through all his makeup.

Honestly though, I thought his performance was one of the most consistently excellent across all of ST:DISCO. Many of the other actors were a bit all over the place, but I am actually struggling to think of an episode where I was genuinely frustrated or annoyed with Jones’s acting.

How about Ted Cassidy? He was the gorn voice, the guard android in What are Little Girls Made Of, the puppet voice in Corbomite Maneuver and also Lurch in the old Addams family show.
