Agreed, but upon a fairly recent rewatch, I was surprised at how quickly the “monster of the week” faded. Season 1 got good well before season 2 started. I think in my mind I had just rolled those episodes up into season 2.
Fringe was so damned good.
Once you get past the “monster of the week” that was season 1, it gets really good. Not that season 1 is bad, but it gets way better.
