Northrop Grumman makes weapon systems, fighter jets and cruise missiles. Not stuff getting fired from a cannon. Shells are cheap and so are the margins. They are still using some designs from 75 years ago.
The US just doesn’t fight wars with cannons(if they can help it, in sure they used them plenty when occupying Iraq and Afghanistan). The Ukrainians are though and it’s using up a lot the available shells at a rate the US and NATO can’t replace them at. They have increased production but nothing near the rate they could if they really wanted to.
I don’t… Who does manufacture the ammo? I can look this up. But I much prefer talking to a person who seems to know. It’s like an AI, but actual intelligence. Much niftier.
Edit: Shells are cheap, and so are the margins… Huh… So I bet if you wanna make real money you have to sell in big bulk. Who are the big bulkists?
Ammo and weapons go bad in storage. Need to use up the piles or there won’t be room to store the new batches being constantly pumped out.
MIC stocks go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Bullets and artillery shells can be pumped out ( though they are not,) as they are comparably simple.
Patriot missiles are made in like 3 places on the planet and they are not made quickly.
Fair distinction.
Can I ask you though, how come, why not?
Aren’t they?
The shtick has been for decades to start new wars to expend ammunition and hardware to replenish it with the new and improved designs.
What’s changed? I haven’t checked Northrop or Halliburton stocks in some time but I can’t imagine they’re hurting.

Huh!
Hmm.
