As a child I had a mission, one I failed at over and over again. I wanted to make peanut butter toast as good as Grandma. PB toast at my grandparents’ house was delicious, at home it was trash. I thought I had it the time I noticed she put a little butter on it before the PB. My disappointment was immeasurable when I found that although it helped, it was still nowhere as good. I could never get above a 4/5 to Grandma’s 10. I started to wonder, was it just the environment? Was it sitting in Grandma’s sunny kitchen before going golfing with Grandpa that made it the food of the gods?
At some point I stopped trying and it became one of those things from childhood I forgot; until my girlfriend (now wife) went grocery shopping and bought real PB. It immediately brought back memories that I hadn’t had for over a decade. I realized this was it, it was so simple, Grandma had the real shit and I only had Skippy/Jiff shit.
It still blows my mind. How the fuck did my parents’ generation, who grew up with the good stuff, accept this shitty substitute? It’s not even cheaper. I just checked the nearest grocery store and the ones that are just peanuts and salt are the cheapest.

Wouldn’t be a lemon party without old Dick.
I’ve been places where white=trad and red could be sharps or redskins.
This shit is so inconsistent you can never assume. I moved across the country once and after going to a few bars/cafes I thought I found my people, oh boy was I wrong.
You need to look at tattoos, shirts, or overt music to make a judgement on first impression.
I would think at a nazi skin party at least some people would be wearing their favorite wp T-shirts, the lack of this or any visible sus tats would suggest these are probably cool people. But if you stumbled upon it, and you didn’t know the local customs, you couldn’t be sure until you heard a bit of conversation.
The color codes are very inconsistent from region to region, and evolve over time.
Without overt tattoos, T-shirt slogans, or music, I would assume a combination of Sharps, trads, reds, etc., none of which would tolerate racist skins.

Dogs and other cute animals in general.
Yeah, but…just have an omelette then eat a banana.
Technologies pioneered in F1 have made their way into our lives over the decades, not just in the cars we drive, but in fields as varied as pediatric surgery and air traffic control. Every car you’ve ever driven was more efficient due to something that was bleeding edge in F1 years earlier.
I’m not an expert so I couldn’t say how but I would be amazed if their current work with hybrid drivetrains don’t improve EVs.
Yeah, F1 burns a lot of gas, but calling it “just funsies” is short sighted. If you add up it’s effects over the years it’s a net positive and it’s not even close.
