But I saw this dad joke recently that I liked:

Buy fewer things. Try to avoid plastic. Walk instead of drive. Stop eating meat. That’s about it.
The city made my grandparents cut down their weeping willow because it was taller than the electrical lines. That tree was like 40 years old and massive. Then they cut down all of the willows at the city park to build in a stupid marina. We used to have willows.
It’s heavily spiced. A lot of Americans eat very plain food.
Indian food. The Europeans won’t understand this, but a lot of Americans straight up refuse to eat it based on the smell.
To be clear, other options are not different. The majority of college students don’t find work in their degree. In 2023, less than 60% were employed at all within 6 months after graduation. Do your best, don’t take out a lot of debt, network in person as much as possible. Finding a job is about talking to people and being likable, not having a skillset.
My entire family is maga, which is awful, but it’s literally just them. Otherwise I’m in an urban city, in an educated and liberal profession, and dating an awesome guy with a very sweet family. Being surrounded by normal and healthy people really makes my interactions with my family feel that much worse. :) Sometimes I’ll bother to tell them they’re wrong, but it doesn’t matter. They’re not acting out of reason. They’re acting out of hatred and avarice.

As an American, the majority of that is going into a retirement fund. If I put in $700,000 now, I can retire at 60 and never worry about saving for retirement.
With the other $300,000, about half will go to paying off my student debt.
Which leaves me like $150,000 to put towards a house. 3-4 bed homes are in the 400-600 range in my neighborhood, so even if boyfriend sold his house, we’d still have to wait until I finish school to be able to buy one.
So I guess like, look for an accountant.
