The nuclear family model, the parents have absolute rights over the child, is as nonsensical as it sounds.

It takes a village and the village should be able to intervene when parents put their child at risk.

This, the many good people are left powerless, defeated, believing that the only way to “succeed” is to be evil and that there is no hope left. That’s how those in power want it. The people who threaten their power to feel resigned and hopeless.

I’m poor because I’m bedridden by chronic illness. So I don’t have that opportunity unfortunately.

Yeah exactly. The dev had been talking for a while about how lemmy wasn’t good for their mental health and they weren’t enjoying it. Even a year ago they made a post saying they quit. But for some reason they came back a couple weeks later. And I guess over the past year it’s gotten worse and worse. I guess we’re witnessing a mental health crisis :(
